Welcome to another ShortCUT with RA! Today I have a tip for all of you running seminars.

One of the first things advisors ask about is: what is the attendance like? How many people are going to be at my seminar? Our data shows that on average, we have 50% attendance from those who sign up.

The other day, I was speaking with a client, let’s call her Kathy, who reported 80% attendance. 80%! I was flabbergasted. And so I said, “Hey, Kathy. What did you do? What…” You know, “What was it that made your attendance so good?” And she’s like, “Andrew, I didn’t do anything special. I just literally followed your instructions and your best practices word for word, step-by-step. Didn’t deviate at all, did exactly what you told me to do.” It’s almost as if we know what we’re doing.

It sounds a little arrogant, but the reality is we do run a lot of these seminars and we do them all the time. We’ve developed our best practices around that. I can promise you is that if you follow our best practices, you will have better results than if you do not follow us, our best practices.
