We focus on work quite a bit, which is super important. You have to be willing to work hard to be successful. However, the same is true for you personal life. Figuring out a balance between the two is extremely important. Having fun and putting the effort into your personal life helps you stay focused when you are at work.

I think this is true of everyone. It doesn’t matter if you are a business owner or an employee, you’ve got to put in the same amount of effort in your personal life that you put into your business life, otherwise you’re going to have some pretty major stresses down the road.

So how do we do that? We go on vacation, we spend time with our family and friends, we relax with a good book or movie. Whatever it is that enriches your life, do it!

Welcome back to another ShortCUT with RA! I’m Andrew, the “A” in RA. Today I'm going to tell you why you shouldn't do your best.

Yep, you heard that correctly! Watch the whole video for the story about why you shouldn’t do your best. Now, of course. I'm always going to try to do my best. I'm always going to work to be the best digital marketer that I can be for our financial advisor clients. But if I am always saying, "Hey, I'm going to do my best. I'm going to make sure I do my best," and I put that out there on a regular basis, and then my best isn't good enough, they're not going to hire me again.

So that's it, really. I'm not saying that you shouldn't do your best. I think you should do your best, but I would caution you against saying things like, "I'm going to do my best," or, "I'm going to work my hardest," because in my opinion anyway, when those statements are made, what's actually being said is, "I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to do it, but I'm going to try to make you feel better about that."
